As we’ve mentioned before, the term office design doesn’t really reflect the extent of projects we work on at Paramount.
Workplace design is probably a better way of describing the service that we’ve offered for cafes, newsrooms, taxi points and even changing rooms!
Now, we’re more than happy to add a showroom to that list.
We were recently awarded a contract by Buckinghamshire-based business, Green Retreats.
They are one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of garden room products, with clients including Grand Designs, the Royal Horticultural Society, The National Trust, Channel 4, BBC, and the Ministry of Defence.
Starting as we “green” to go on
After shortlisting a number of potential partners, Green Retreats chose us to design, fit out and furnish a new building alongside their manufacturing site that will house a ground-floor showroom and first-floor offices.
Their marketing manager, James Fox, explains why they made the decision; “Once we met with the team at Paramount and discussed their initial ideas, it became obvious that our two companies shared a lot of the same values.
“Paramount’s design concept took on board our aspiration to create spaces that were displayed in a showroom but still felt like they were outdoors.”
Has to be “green” to be believed
The layout of the outdoor rooms will demonstrate how they can be used for different applications, including social spaces, home offices, and playrooms.
One of the 2018 office design trends predicted by our design director, Helen, will be a major aspect of the design.
The space will use a number of biophilic design principles, with natural materials, natural light, and vegetation helping to create an organic experience for visitors.
The showroom’s double-height space will not only allow for plenty of natural light but also feature a combination of tall trees and lower-level planting.
A brand new, concrete power-floated floor, buffed to a high-quality finish with a power float machine, will be left partially exposed.
Individual zones containing the outdoor rooms will use wood-effect luxury vinyl tiles.
Helen Bartlett, Design Director at Paramount Interiors said “Working on this project has been great fun for our design team. Not only did the brief require some out-of-the-box thinking (excuse the pun) but the Green Retreats team have been a pleasure to work alongside, engaging with us both creatively and inspirationally.”
The new Green Retreats Showroom is due to be opened just outside of Aylesbury at the end of March. Watch this space for more information.
In the meantime, if you have a showroom or unconventional workplace that needs freshening up, contact the team at Paramount.
