As part of our ongoing collaboration with Bristol Bears Community Foundation, Paramount invited school girls aged 13-14 to Bristol HQ for a series of encouraging talks, led by our own inspirational and successful women at Paramount.
The aim of the session was to build self-confidence and boost self-esteem among young women.
The event was part of a 12-week well-being programme called ‘Bear in Mind’ from Bristol Bears Community Foundation and focuses on fostering open communication, supporting mental health and well-being of teenage girls. It targets girls in secondary education, a time when many are arguably most vulnerable.
During this session, our team covered topics including self-confidence, neurodiversity, dyslexia, careers advice, body image and social media, with many sharing personal experiences and various challenges they have faced personally and professionally.

Scott Flannigan, Secondary Education Manager at Bristol Bears Community Foundation reflected on the day, stating:
“The trip to the Paramount office for our Chew Valley ‘Bear in Mind’ group was an amazing experience for the girls involved. From the tour of the incredible office to sitting down with the successful women who make up the Paramount team, our girls had an experience that showed them they can break down barriers and achieve whatever they set their minds to. The team were nothing short of inspirational, through their kindness and professionalism, they even got our quietest student to participate in open group discussions. The chocolate and biscuits were well-received too! Corporate partners like Paramount are truly invaluable, as they enable the foundation to provide a level of student enrichment that helps our students and schools break down barriers and set new norms.”
Our partnership with Bristol Bears Community Foundation spans many years, and support of this event is testament to our ongoing commitment in developing career and life skills for young people through mentorship and sportsmanship. This closely follows our recent involvement in the Corporate Tag Rugby Tournament, which raised £22K, alongside our work with the charity on their HITZ campaign.
