We’ve experienced significant growth over the last few years, so we’re on the hunt for a Senior Estimator to join our fast-paced Commercial department. This is a key position within the team, primarily based at our award-winning Dock House workspace in Bristol, but also at our Cardiff HQ for internal/client meetings.
Whether it’s to breathe life into a dated office block with a CAT A refurbishment or the fit out of a brand-new workspace, you can expect to work on a variety of projects at Paramount.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts on a ‘design & build’ or traditional procurement basis.
- Carry out take offs and produce Bills of Quantities/Schedule of Works to ensure accurate costs from supply chain to prepare tenders for submission.
- Manage site visits to undertake detailed surveys, attend meetings with projects teams and supply chain as necessary throughout the process.
- Work closely with the Design, Sales and Projects teams, supporting as necessary from a commercial perspective.
- Undertake post-contract discussions to understand lessons learned in support of future opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers at all levels to ensure projects are efficiently costed and managed, achieving company sales targets.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Estimator role will include the above but are not limited to.
What you’ll have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the fit out/construction industry in an Estimating/Quantity Surveying role.
- A proven, successful track record of leading on significant fit out/construction projects.
- A high level of commercial acumen and solid understanding of project delivery process, market rates, profit margins and value engineering options.
- Ability to interpret drawings and prepare schedules of work and measured Bills of Quantities.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to always deal professionally with customers/clients/team.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- A highly motivated individual with a willingness and desire to grow with the business and integrate with the rest of the team.
- Effective time management, planning and organisational skills to deliver in a fast-moving environment and to tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Ability and willingness to travel when required across the UK for site visits and client meetings.
