We are pleased to announce that not one but two of our recent refurbishment projects have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2023 South of England & South Wales BCO Awards.
The revamp of the iconic Hodge House building in central Cardiff has been recognised in the Refurbished/Recycled Workplace category, whilst the regeneration of the three-floored Dock House office block on Bristol’s historic harbourside is a finalist in the Projects under 1,500m2 category.
Hodge House
As Principal Contractor for the refurbishment of Hodge House, we took responsibility for realising the design concept developed by architects Stride Treglown for Legal and General, and transforming the Grade II listed building into a contemporary workspace for modern-day occupiers.
Hodge House was the first building in Wales to achieve WiredScore certified Gold, and was also awarded Workplace Design of the Year at the Wales Property Awards 2020.
The second phase of the project completed in 2022, and included creation of the café with welfare provision, repairs to the clock tower, boilers being re-purposed from another Legal and General site, and a complete upgrade to the carpark comprising re-surfacing, decoration, new lighting and the addition of EV chargers.

Dock House
Developed by V7, with creative concept from architectural firm AWW, Paramount was responsible for the CAT A refurbishment at Dock House, as well as the CAT B fit out for what has since become our very own Bristol base.
Together with Corten steel cladding, steel portal frame entrance feature, warm LED lighting and exposed concrete slabs, the once dull roadside exterior has been totally transformed.
Inside, the team have created an engaging and distinctive working environment with varying workspaces, including formal desks, casual meeting areas, spaces for quiet work and a coffee bar. The agile working environment allows people to choose for themselves the best way to work.
