A highlight in the diary for Paramount – the Corporate Tag Rugby Tournament with Bristol Bears Community Foundation.
The Foundation partnered with Paramount to kick off the 2023 series in March. A diverse mix of over 200 professionals from across the region participated in the series of events, with men and women competing on the pitch at Ashton Gate Stadium for the coveted Corporate Tag Rugby trophy.
With the competition drawing to a close earlier this month, the top 12 teams from the two heats were invited to the finals as part of the Community Foundation Celebration of Sport Day on May 3rd.
The series raised a staggering £16,000, with £13,000 going directly to the Bristol Bears Community Foundation. The funds will go a long way in supporting the delivery of programmes that will help change the lives of people across the region.
Craig Capel, Bristol Bears Community Foundation Development Manager, said: “The money raised by our friends in the business world will support the valuable work we do across communities in the South West.
“We all very much enjoyed the chance to meet and work with new and old friends of the Foundation, with each event being played in the right spirit.
“Special mention must go to Paramount, in particular Sulli Gardner, who helped to recruit teams and offer some amazing raffle prizes that contributed even further to the amount raised.”
The Bristol Bears Community Foundation is a registered charity that works with over 8,000 people from the local community each year. The Foundation delivers a broad range of programmes, serving the community across four key areas including education, participation, health, and inclusion.
Sulli Gardner, Business Development Manager, commented: “Together we’ve not only had a load of fun but also raised an incredible amount of money for Bristol Bears Community Foundation.
Last year’s Paramount Property Tag Rugby Tournament raised £3,000, but to see over 200 players join for this year’s series, putting commercial rivalries to one side in the name of charity, and successfully raising £13,000 for the Foundation is an epic achievement.”
