We recently invited pupils from Porthcawl Primary School for an educational workshop and site visit with our local subcontractors.
The day included workshops with members of our Senior Leadership team which focused on teamwork, and together with our local heating, plumbing, dry lining and electrical contractors, pupils from years 5 and 6 were provided with practical introductions to the various trade roles typically involved in construction.
Led by our Health, Safety and Environmental Manager Adele John, Design Director Helen Bartlett and Construction Manager Robert Chapman, the trip included a visit to a multi-million-pound live construction project, being developed in conjunction with our client Valleys to Coast.
Whilst on site, Adele guided the children through all the Health and Safety aspects required when working in construction – thanks goes to our subcontractors for donating safety hats and high vis jackets for the trip.

The project is a 20-property development consisting of 17 one-bedroom and 3 two-bedroom accommodation across four-storeys and is intended to serve the over 50’s demographic. The homes will be completed in April 2024. Read more on the project here.

Further to the visit, Paramount tasked all pupils of Porthcawl Primary School with an art competition to design their dream home, with all winning artwork printed and displayed on hoarding in front of the site at Old Station Road.
